personality;; The Impala, even as a car, has always been sultry and sexy, and those two traits certainly didn't go away when she became human. She is cheeky and flirty (though only with her boys and friends), but above all she is loyal and fearless. Baby loves the Winchester boys with all her heart and would do absolutely anything for them. She loves adventures and is happiest when on a new case, and she enjoys the thought that she might be helping to save the world by getting rid of monsters. Though knowing full well how dangerous hunting in, Baby longs to join her boys and help them in their job. She also has a strong sense of wanderlust and though she can tolerate being in one town for long periods of time, she is more happy moving around and travelling.

history;; Tayla Colt started her life as a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala who was bought by John Winchester in 1973 after Dean went back in time and talked his father into buying it over a 1964 VW Van, just to make sure. It has never not been a part of the lives of Sam and Dean.

They moved from place to place, but the car was their constant touchstone.  Never mind their initials carved in the upholstery, the Legos in the vent or the army men in the ashtray.  You’d have to destroy that car to get the Winchester lifeblood out of it. When John gave the car to Dean, it basically became Dean’s home. The car became his most prized possession, and he protects it with nearly the same ferocity with which he protects his family. Dean calls the Impala baby, sexy and sweetheart. One time he took out a ton of pain and anger on it, but he put it back right again.

Over the years the Impala went on a plethora of hunting adventures, received many dents and battle scars (which, of course, were lovingly buffed out by Dean. She was crashed and rebuilt multiple times, but never did the thought of leaving her behind ever occurred. The Impala was a Winchester. They loved her and she, in her own way, loved them back. Especially Dean. The Impala was their park bench when they want to watch the stars.  It wass their table when they need to spread out a map, their beds when they couldn’t get a motel room, their front porch when they needed to talk.

On a trip from Kansas to Colorado, a giant portal opened up right in front of Dean and Baby. Dean tried swerving and avoiding the thing, but it was of no use - the portal swallowed them up, spitting them out in Brightwood forest. The portal, seemingly not liking inanimate objects with a soul ending up in Albion, ripped out the Impala's soul put it into a human form. Who is she to complain though? After all these years she'll finally get to talk to her favourite Winchester. She decided that she liked the name Tayla, and deciding that she wanted her own surname (she was an independent woman now, after all), decided on Colt, as out of the Winchester arsenal, it had always been a favourite gun of hers.
